Password Protected Screen Savers
Due to an audit finding from the State Auditors, FRS system users are now required to use screen savers protected by passwords. Please use the following instructions to set up a password protected screen saver for your system.
PCs Using Windows 95/98/Me:
- Right click on your desktop
- Click on Active Desktop
- Click on Customize my Desktop
- Click on Screen Saver tab
- Select your screensaver from the drop down box
- Click the box beside of Password protected
- Set wait time to 15 minutes
- Click on the Change button to set your password
- Type the desired password in New password
- Retype the desired password in Confirm new password
- Click the OK button
- Click the Apply button
- Click the OK button
PCs Using Windows 2000:
- Right click on your desktop
- Click on Properties
- Click on Screen Saver tab
- Select your screensaver from the drop down box
- Set wait time to 15 minutes
- Click the box beside of Password protected
- Your password will automatically be set to the same password for your Novell login
- Click on the Apply button
- Click the OK button
PCs Using Windows XP:
- Right click on your desktop
- Click on Properties
- Click on Screen Saver tab
- Select your screensaver from the drop down box
- Set wait time to 15 minutes
- Click the box beside of On resume, password protect
- Your password will automatically be set to the same password for your Novell login
- Click on the Apply button
- Click the OK button
